What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Passion Church based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

There is one eternally existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise.  God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom,  justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

The Bible is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God to men. The truth of how we live in faith and conduct.
2 Tim. 3:15, 17; 1 Pet. 1:23-25; Heb. 4:12

God has revealed himself to us through his son, Jesus Christ, who is the visible image of the invisible God, the holy scriptures, and through all of creation itself.

Humans, both male and female, were created in God's image for His glory. The first humans, Adam and Eve, were created without sin and appointed as caretakers of the rest of God's creations.
Gen. 1:26-31; Gen. 3:17; Rom. 5:12-21; John 3:8

The Fall

When Adam and Eve chose not to obey God, they ceased to be what they were made to be and became distorted images of God. This caused them to fall out of fellowship with God, and fractured all of creation ever since that time.
Gen. 1:26-31; Gen. 3:17; Rom. 5:12-21; John 3:8

Water Baptism

Baptism in water by immersion is an instruction given by our Lord for those who have repented of their sins and believe in their heart that Jesus Christ is Savior and Lord. Baptism is a public declaration of identification with Christ's death, burial and resurrection through which we are released to walk in newness of life with Christ.
Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4

Salvation is a free gift from God revealed to man by the Holy Spirit, only recived by the grace of God, through faith and confession of Jesus Christ and repentence of sins. Through the renewing of the Holy Spirit man has the hope of eternal life and becomes a co-heir with Christ.
John 3:16; 1 Cor. 12:3; Titus 2:11; Titus 3:5-7; Romans 10:13-15;

Baptism of the Holy Ghost

The Baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire is a promise from the Father that all beleivers should seek and expect to recieve subsequent to the new birth. This experience is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit gives utterance.
Matt. 3:11, John 14:16-17, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:1-4, Acts 2:38-39, Acts 19:1-7,

Divine Healing

Deliverance from sickness is proved for in the atonement of Jesus Christ and is the privilege for all believers.
 (Isaiah 53:4-5, Matthew 8:16-17, Mark 16:18, John 5:14.

The Church

The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.
